Here are some pictures of my academic adventures over the years (more to come).
The 2015 group photo at the NanoFilm deposition facility, my first year as Assistant Professor.
Overview of the whole system with the big chamber on the right the deposition tool.
On the right the analytic chamber, in the middle in the back the preparation and on the left with the gloves the load lock.
This is the UHV transport line between the different chambers.
This picture was taken by Bart van Overbeke photography to accompany an article in the local university newspaper reporting on our paper in Nature.
In 2008 (2nd year PhD) I got a 'do it yourself' domain wall building set from FNA's Santa.
This was when I just started my Master Thesis at FNA, no glasses needed, still some hair left. Sinterklaas gave me a Magnesium sputter target...
This picture was taken during the oudejaarsbraspartij just after I graduated for my masters. Me and Roeland were accused of stealing the coffee machine and there was an active lobby to get me the Blunder-Trophy (it failed ;)).
The 2007 group photo at the EUFORAC deposition facility, my first year as PhD-student.
In 2009 I was accused by a few of my ex-students so again I was again close to getting the Blunder-Trophy, but not quite. But hey, where there is hard work, there are splinters, right!
The yearly soccer match with the team 'Spin 'm d'r in'.
Making something arty with grafitti at the groupouting turned out to be harder than anticipated. But with Gerrie everything finally works out!
